SHOW by SkyCity Membership

At SkyCity Queenstown, all gaming uses the SHOW by SkyCity card system. Here, membership is required before you use tables or machines, and sign-up is quick and easy. By signing up, you can track your play, manage your gaming time, or cut yourself off if you need a break.

SHOW by SkyCity carded play is live at SkyCity Queenstown. A SHOW by SkyCity card or valid Premier Rewards card is needed to play. You can sign up online, at a SHOW by SkyCity kiosk, or with assistance at a Guest Services Desk. You can also register in person. Right in Queenstown’s city centre, our casino doors open daily from 11am to 1am, closed only on Christmas Day and for restricted hours on Good Friday and Anzac Day. We do check for age. You’ll need to be 20 or over to enter the casino.

What You Need for Registration

We’re strict about ID. Before you play or even get your permanent card, bring along current, valid identification. This means a valid passport (any country), NZ or Australian driver’s licence, or government-issued photo ID. Expired ID is not accepted.

To complete sign up, customers must provide their name, contact details, a residential address and valid photo ID. Once you’re on the gaming floor, our membership staff will double-check your age and ID before anything else. The process takes just a few minutes.

Registering In Person

Pop down to the casino during regular hours. Head for the SHOW membership counter on the floor (it’s easy to spot), hand over your valid ID, and tell our staff your full name, date of birth, and address. A quick look through our Host Responsibility terms, and you get your SHOW by SkyCity player card right at the desk.

That card belongs to SkyCity and may need to be handed back if asked. Don’t forget to bring it every time for access.

If you’re keen on cashless play, you can set up Quick Pay straight away.

Quick Pay Activation

Quick Pay lets you play without carrying cash on the floor. 86 machines can be used with Quick Pay when you link your card. Get it activated at the membership desk or the cashier, choose a PIN, load up via cash or EFTPOS, and you’re set.

Just dip your card into a machine, punch your PIN, and play with your pre-loaded funds. If there’s anything left when you leave, pop by the cashier to cash out. Want to change a limit or control? That’s sorted at the cashier, whenever you ask.

Gaming Floor & Table Use

All gaming tables and machines require an active SHOW card. Blackjack, Roulette, Midi Baccarat? Your card unlocks every seat and screen. Our dealers will check your card before play begins.

Machine play: your SHOW by SkyCity card goes in before anything lights up. Of 86 active machines, each one needs your card to start. The VIP tables and rooms may require advance planning with management.

Host Responsibility Comes First

When you join, you’re automatically covered by the Host Responsibility Programme. This is essential, and it’s more than rules - we look out for our guests. Self-exclusion is available immediately. Want help setting time-out limits or want info for third-party exclusions? Just ask our Host team.

Worried about a gaming issue outside our hours? You can call 0800 SKYCITY to reach the Shift Manager. We keep a record if you self-exclude and make sure no one comes back early. Player Card Replacement & Info Changes

Lost your card, or managed to bend it? Replacement is easy - just head to the membership desk. A small fee may apply, but your account remains active, not lost.

You can update your contact info anytime. An address move, new phone number, fresh email - just let the desk or cashier know and we’ll adjust right away. It means you always get promo offers, event invites, and important info when you need it.

Tracking Rewards on Your Card

Every session with your SHOW card adds to your points for rewards. Points are earned from both tables and machines, not from cash exchanges at the tables. Keep in mind: the rewards system is tied to SHOW by SkyCity carded play and tracked by SkyCity. Table play, ask your dealer to note your buys and cash-outs for rewards.

SHOW by SkyCity rewards members can earn Rewards Points across participating outlets at any SkyCity. Current Premier Rewards members can continue using their current Premier Rewards card or swap to a new SHOW by SkyCity Rewards card. Yearly play levels may affect redemption options. To check your points, just ask at the desk or cashier. Promo periods happen, with a shot at extra points or event invites.

SkyCity Queenstown became wholly owned after the purchase of the remaining Skyline Enterprises’ stake. The casino has been in operation since 2000. We’re proud of our extra spaces, not just gaming: Wild Thyme Bar & Kitchen runs on site, we also offer event spaces and have TAB betting available.

How We Check Ages

The entry age is 20 - strict, even if you look older. Every guest gets ID’d at the door for any area, including just for food and drinks at Wild Thyme Bar & Kitchen. If your paperwork is expired, or if you’ve had a bit much to drink, entry will be refused on the spot.

This uniform approach applies to Auckland, Hamilton, and Adelaide SkyCity properties as well. You’ll find the rules are exactly the same regardless of which venue.
